The Community Resilience Plan:
Working with Dumfries &
Galloway's Senior Resilience Officer and staff, we have compiled a
Community Resilience Plan for the purpose of emergency planning in the
village and surrounding areas. The plan document lists important
contact
details with folk and agencies that may be able to help following an
emergency, or 'near emergency'
situation. It's all about making sure that all the right folk are
notified to bring the appropriate and required assistance to help deal
with the aftermath of such an 'emergency'.
Of
course if you experience an emergency involving potential danger to
life or serious injury - a genuine emergency - your first port of call
is to ring 999 and get best professional assistance.....that's an
important action. In some circumstances the community resilience team
can help as a follow up.... and our Group is here to help and perhaps
provide a bit of guidance as to the best way to get the assistance you
might need. Additionally we enjoy a good pragmatic relationship with
prominent local businesses who have offered help in genuine
circumstances, from their own considerable resourses. Problems can
often be sorted out with a bit of a chat to move forward in the most pragmatic way.
Gold Award Status:
Following on from registering our Reslience Plan with Dumfries &
Galloway Council's own Community Resilience staff we have been awarded
their 'Gold Award Status' as recognised by D&G Council.
GDPR
rules prevent us from listing our very detailed plan and it's contact
participants on this website, but D&G Council have copies of the
plan, as obviously we do. For GDPR security purposes we no longer
supply copies to the village community council, but the necessary
information would be shared in the event of a genuine emergency
scenario. In certain emergency scenarios D&G Council will provide
our Group with information they class as 'sitreps'. These reports are
confidential to Resilience Groups and cannot be put out on social media
etc, unless the information release is authorised by the relevant
D&G department. So, the plan is there ready and able for putting
into action. We have distributed, by mail drop, additional guidance
leaflets, and will repeat this in due course - but of course don't
hesitate to contact us to see if we can
help - 07702 242100.
